Rest & Restore
Sunday 19th January - 2-4pm
Rest & restore allows you the opportunity to slow down and unwind, a chance to stop and just be. We will begin with a journaling exercise to clear your mind, followed by meditation and breath work, before sinking in to an extended restorative practice allowing you to begin accessing the parasympathetic nervous system enhancing the bodies ability to heal and restore. This is a gentle yet powerful practice that reminds us that true healing happens when we slow down, let go, and allow the body to find its natural state of ease. Yin workshop for the Spring Equinox - an extended practice
Saturday 22nd March 13:30-15:30
On this day there are equal amounts of daylight and darkness as we begin the journey into Spring. It is a time that represents renewal and growth. The workshop will begin with an acupressure point and discovering how the Yin practice may stimulate meridians and allow energy to flow more freely. This will be followed with a settling in meditation and then the Yin sequence will begin. Each shape will be held for about two to five minutes to work our connective tissues and joints to make space in our bodies. The more we work our fascial system and deep tissues, the less dense and tight our bodies become. Benefits include: · Releases fascia and improves joint mobility; · Improves flexibility; · Calms and quietens the mind; · Reduces stress and anxiety; · Increases circulation; · Balances the internal organs and improves the flow of chi (energy). The three principles guiding the practice are: – coming into the Yin shape to an appropriate depth, so you can feel an edge; finding stillness in the body and the mind and staying in the shape for some time. There will be an opportunity for those with an existing Yin practice to extend the time they hold their shapes whilst if you are new to Yin or if it feels right for you, you can enjoy a delicious longer rebound - the pause between shapes. The workshop will end with an extended Savasana. You will leave the workshop feeling ready for Spring, lighter and more balanced in body and mind. £28pp |
